Dr. Eric A. Arp’s interest in becoming a physician began in childhood. Growing up in Iowa, he developed two strong passions: helping others and playing football. In high school, he was an All-State linebacker on his school’s state championship football team. He later continued his love for the sport as a walk-on with the Iowa Hawkeyes football team under legendary coach Hayden Fry.
After his first year, Dr. Arp faced a difficult decision: continue playing football or focus fully on becoming a doctor. He chose medicine, a decision he has never regretted.
Dr. Arp spent four years in Chicago during medical school before securing a surgical residency in Indiana. He and his wife later moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, along the beautiful shores of
Lake Norfork. They raised their six children in the community, where Dr. Arp also enjoyed coaching youth sports. His four-time state championship-winning baseball team, the “Bomb Squad,” advanced to the Cal Ripken World Series in 2013.
Beyond his official work, Dr. Arp has remained active in the local community. He has served as a mentor at the Mountain Home High School Career Academy and has welcomed student interns into his office. He values the opportunity to guide young people who are interested in health care and service.
Dr. Arp is passionate about caring for his patients and has a special interest in non-surgical approaches for heel pain, reconstructive flatfoot surgery, and forefoot surgery. He feels grateful to come to a job he loves each day and is honored to have earned the trust and respect of many patients over the years.
